The subtext is a gentle polemic against the split life. “Inner world” and “outer world” aren’t just psyche and society; they’re the perennial complaint of modernity: the private self versus public performance, the felt truth versus the lived schedule. By promising we can “easily and consciously” unite them, he offers more than calm. He offers coherence, a way to stop feeling like a divided person running incompatible operating systems.

Context matters here. Chinmoy’s public-facing spirituality, especially in the West, arrived amid postwar disillusionment and the late-20th-century hunger for techniques rather than creeds.
