Alan Charles "Al" Jardine is a US-American guitarist, singer and songwriter.

In high school - after he and his family had moved to California - Jardine was familiar with Brian Wilson and his brothers Carl and Dennis. Along with Mike Love started the The Beach Boys, who would become one of history's most popular pop bands.

Jardine plays bass on the group's first album, "Surfin '" from 1961. Early in 1962 he left the band, but returned just over a year later - and was so in about 35 years. He played mostly rhythm guitar and singing voices, but he's also the first voice on some songs, such as "Help Me, Rhonda," "Cotton Fields" and "Peggy Sue". Jardine has a falsetto voice is similar to Brian Wilson, and he has often replaced it on tour. Jardine has also written and produced some of the band's songs.

Jardine left the Beach Boys in 1998, when Carl Wilson died. He later toured with the Endless Summer Band, which includes the former BB-touring musicians. In autumn 2006, he played with Brian Wilson on a short tour on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Pet Sounds. In 2010, Jardine gave her first solo studio album, A Postcard from California, with contributions from both BB-colleagues and other musicians such as Neil Young and Steve Miller.
