Karrie Ann Webb is an Australian professional golfer, and one the biggest stars in damegolfens history. She plays on the U.S. LPGA Tour.
Webb grew up in Ayr in Queensland, and still has a house there. She began her professional golf career in 1994 and joined the LPGA Tour in 1996.
She has won seven major tournaments: the Women's British Open in 2002, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2000 and 2006 du Maurier Classic in 1999, McDonald's LPGA Championship in 2001 and U.S. Women's Open in 2000 and 2001. With this, Webb won all five major tournaments in women's golf (including the du Maurier Classic, which no longer has major status). In addition, she won the Women's British Open in 1995 and 1997, before being recognized as major of the LPGA Tour (it had, however, major status on the Ladies European Tour).
Webb was elected honorary member of Golf Gallery in 2000, but was not eligible for the inauguration before she had played ten LPGA tournaments in ten different seasons. This condition fulfilled her 9 June 2005 when she completed the first round of the LPGA Championship. She was the youngest living person ever to be installed in the hall of fame, and held this position until Se Ri Pak was elected in 2007.
