Ralph Kiner is a former American baseball player that has evolved into Major League Baseball from 1946 to 1955. Despite this career shortened by injuries, he was elected to the Hall of Fame baseball in 1975. After his playing career, he became a commentator for television, a position he holds at the New York Mets for the 46th season in 2008.

He is a native of New Mexico who grew up in Alhambra, California. He made his major league debut April 12, 1946 under the colors of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Specialist home runs, it dominates the rankings in this area from 1946 to 1952. His record over a season of 54 home runs (1949).

Selected six consecutive times for the All-Star (1948-1953), he finished five times in the top ten of MVP voting for the year (1947-1951).
