Ralph Ransom is a well known Painter from Saint Joseph that went to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1898, where he researched with the influential American painter and etcher James Mcneill Whistler. He completed his studies at the Académie Delecluse in Paris (1906).

In 1901 he wed Keith Ransom-Kehler (birthed Nannie Keith Bean in Dayton, Kentucky), they came to be moms and dads in 11 February 1907 to a little girl, Julia Keith Ransom Money. A little over a year later on, on 5 June 1908, Ralph Ransom died, obviously of consumption.

His mother, Mary Ransom, that resided in Saint Joseph, appears to have actually contributed in elevating young Julia when Keith Ransom was taking a trip (to Europe with her dad in 1908-- 09), studying, or operating in Chicago.
