Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, peace and goodwill. But for some folks in the small town of Bailey Downs, it turns into something much less festive.

Introduction
"A Christmas Horror Story" is a 2015 scary anthology movie directed by Grant Harvey, Steven Hoban, and Brett Sullivan. The film includes 4 interconnected tales bound together by a radio DJ, Dangerous Dan played by William Shatner, who works on Christmas Eve. The tales, including Christmas folklore components such as Krampus, ghosts, and a zombie break out, are embeded in the imaginary town of Bailey Downs.

Zombie Elves
The very first tale focuses on Santa Claus preparing for Christmas at the North Pole with his fairies. When one of the fairies contracts a strange health problem and dies, it doesn't stop there. The illness changes him into a violent zombie that contaminates other elves. Santa is required to fight off the aggressive zombie elves. This narrative thread continues throughout the film, playing out between the other stories.

The Changeling
The second story highlights a family who loses their child in the woods just to discover that the kid who returns with them is not their child. The extraordinary kid possesses supernatural strength and a penchant for chaos and violence. Revealing a reimagining of the changeling myth, the narrative ends with a shocking twist, highlighting the household's struggle against this supernatural entity.

Krampus
The 3rd story tells an account of Krampus, the mythical Anti-Santa animal understood to penalize those who have actually been wicked on Christmas. In this story, Krampus targets a dysfunctional family after they participate in a fight on their method to visit loved ones. The punishing figure chases after the household who tries to escape his wrath, causing a terrifying climax.

Haunted School
In the fourth tale, a group of high school students burglarize their school building, which has actually been closed and been plentiful due to a double murder. The ghost of the woman killed in the case still haunts the structure. As they explore the facilities, they get scared by the ghost.

Conclusion
Bringing all these narratives together is Dangerous Dan, the radio DJ who is constantly connecting the threads of each tale while consuming through his own lonesome Christmas Eve. It results in a grisly conclusion in which the stories roll together. Santa should battle the famous monster, Krampus, just to wake up and discover himself as the inebriated DJ who was hallucinating. The climactic brawl reveals a twist as Santa - depicted as a fight-to-the-death hero - is revealed to be a hallucination of Dangerous Dan's, demonstrating a comprehensive line between celebratory happiness and vacation horror.

The movie provides scary and Christmas in equivalent steps, with tales packed with thriller, adventure, and a dash of humor offering a special blend of vacation spirit and bone-chilling scary. Its relatively different stories come together to supply a shockingly linked scary anthology that portrays the dark underside of Christmas folklore and mythology. Regardless of the joyful setting, "A Christmas Horror Story" solidifies its stature as a well-rounded scary anthology.
