Film Overview
"Another 48 Hrs". is a sequel to the action movie "48 Hrs". released in 1982. This second installation, directed by Walter Hill, reunites Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte as they reprise their functions from the initial film. Launched in 1990, the movie brings the unlikely pair back together to solve a case from their past that has extreme implications for both their futures.

Plot
The movie opens with a bus carrying detainees, including a character called "Cherry" Ganz, played by Andrew Divoff, who is the sibling of the criminal removed by Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) and Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) in the very first movie. Cherry and another detainee escape and vow to avenge their fallen brother. Cates, who is dealing with a murder case including a drug dealership's incongruous murder, learns that the weapon used in the criminal offense may be connected to the case he and Hammond dealt with years previously. He has an inkling that Hammond, who is about to be released from jail, might help him uncover the truth and fix the case once and for all.

Storyline Twist
As soon as the set reunite, they become targets for Cherry Ganz and his criminal crew. The encounter results in a wild chase and the loss of Hammond's cash, forcing him to stick to Cates even after his reluctant release.

At the same time, Cates finds a conspiracy within the police department, where a couple of rogue police officers serving as the "Iceman", a mystical kingpin, are involved in crack cocaine dealing. He is then suspended from his task due to the fact that the Internal Affairs think that he eliminated a witness in his case. Hammond stays, not just since he desires his cash back, but due to the fact that his friendship with Cates deepens.

Ending
Regardless of a number of actions-packed, lethal encounters with the gang, Cates and Hammond survive and handle to clear their names. They expose the corrupt officers within their department and take down the "Iceman". The experience ends with Hammond, now entirely penniless but free, and Cates, whose task is saved, parting ways.

Cast and Performance
Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy go back to their functions, preserving the unique chemistry of unconventional relationship in between the duo, basically driving the movie forward with their appealing efficiencies. While Nolte reprises his gruff cop role efficiently, Murphy outshines his own previous performance, bringing an extra edge of comedy and flair to his character. The supporting cast, including Andrew Divoff, Brion James, Kevin Tighe, and Ed O'Ross, provide solid performances.

Critical Reception
