Introduction
"Avalon: Beyond the Abyss" is a 1998 television science-fiction movie directed by Philip Sgriccia. The movie, produced by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, centers around an undersea research group examining a weird energy source that caused a shipwreck and the disappearance of a regional fisherman.

Plot Summary
The film focuses on a team of undersea explorers who are looking for a lost ship named Avalon, positioned near the Bermuda Triangle. The salvage team is led by John Alden (Parker Stevenson), a no-nonsense sea captain, professional diver, and manager of a marine salvage company. While examining the wreck, they are shocked to discover an abnormality that causes a whirlpool and practically sucks in a whole ship.

At the same time, we satisfy Dr. Katherine Briggs (Meadow Sisto), who, together with her assistant, discovers a glowing antique that they think to be an alien artifact. This artifact, she discusses, predicts a sphere of energy which alters whatever within its radius. It's likewise accountable for various disappearing incidences of crafts as they are transported into another dimension, which describes the infamous mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.

Conflict
Alden and Briggs' groups come together and head back underwater for a closer examination. There's rising stress as the government gets involved, revealing eager interest and partiality to keep the findings a trick.

In addition, the team faces catastrophe as the whirlpool's radius continues to expand and threatens life in the world. This whirlpool is, in truth, a website in between dimensions brought on by the alien artifact and feeds off energy. There is also fear that the Earth could pass into another measurement if a nuclear occurrence takes place in the zone.

The researchers stumble upon an abnormality which leads them throughout different time measurements. They are revealed events that occurred in the past like the sinking of the Avalon.

Climax and Conclusion
Dr. Briggs, after much struggle, manages to manage the energy sphere from the artifact, saving the team when they decide to detonate a nuclear device hoping its energy would be taken in by the alien artifact. The strategy exercises successfully, and the mysterious energy field is destabilized, triggering the website to close.

The film concludes with the team managing to peacefully bring back the artifact to its resting place on the seafloor, hence saving humankind from an approaching doom.
