Plot

Picking responsibility over family, Lin fails to conserve her whilst the objective goes awry, leading to Dr. James's death and the villain, Andre, left for dead.

The movie jumps 13 years forward and we see a now-retired Lin living in Sydney, Australia. All At Once, Dr. James's production, a bioroid, is now fully grown and called Nancy. Unaware of her true identity, she lives as an orphan, constantly haunted by problems of previous occasions, and under the careful eye of Lin. Gradually, previous secrets are exposed - Lin's daughter was not his real child however undoubtedly Nancy, the bioroid. Andre, now a genetically improved superhuman, comes back in quest of eternal life, for which he requires Nancy.

Martial Arts Action
Chan, commonly understood for his martial arts skills and death-defying stunts, does not disappoint. High-octane chase series, and battles scenes highlighting Chan's dexterity and imagination in fight, stress the movie. The climax, set atop the Sydney Opera House, sees a legendary fight amongst Lin, Andre, and his henchmen. The showdown ends with Lin pushing Andre off the roofing, eliminating him and saving Nancy.

Underpinning Themes
At its core, "Bleeding Steel" elegantly links aspects of sci-fi (genetically improved superhumans, bioroids) with Jackie Chan's traditional action-based storytelling. It juxtaposes futuristic modern science with Chan's signature down-to-earth combating style.
