Harvey Keitel plays Penfield Gruber, a once great scientist, reduced to managing a sleazy hotel. Plot Summary
An effective however narrow-minded business person, Harvey Keitel, plays the function of a wealthy property mogul named Penfield Gruber. He gets a motel on the outskirts of a city with strategies to destroy it and develop a luxury condo complex. While inspecting the decayed structure, Gruber experiences the motel's only renter, a young woman called Julie (played by Lori Hallier).

His first instinct is to evict her instantly. However, he's forced to remain at the motel due to a storm temporarily causing his vehicle to break down. As the night advances, he witnesses a series of violent criminal activities through his window, beginning with the murder of Julie's boyfriend. He remain stuck in the motel, ending up being a reluctant witness to these gruesome events.

Delighting Revelations
Keitel's character doesn't discover till later on that these criminal activities are not random but part of an advanced plot. A plot that winds him up not only seeing but also being involved in several homicides. The murderers are intricately connected with Julie, the motel, and its visitors.

Lolita Davidovich plays the role of a cold-hearted killer who traps Gruber deeper into turmoil. In addition, as the killings increase, the terrifying secret behind these murders gets exposed. The motel was not quit by its commercial customers by opportunity, but intentionally, as it was used as a hub for criminal activity.

The Twist
As the conspiracy unfolds, Gruber realizes his life remains in risk and that Julie has a main function in these criminal activities. Julie is much more than a tenant; she is the root of all wicked activities taking place at the motel.

The thrilling climax of the story plays out with a twist as Gruber needs to choose to either be an innocent witness or fight for his life. He opts for the latter, and in his quote for survival, Gruber finds his primal instincts and kills the assassins, including Julie.
