ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011)

ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 Poster

The game of cat-and-mouse is on as Chromeskull’s assistant, Preston, scrambles to tie up the loose ends left behind after his deranged boss’s last killing spree. He finds that he likes taking care of business—maybe a little too much. One bloody mess leads to another and the bodies pile up in a visual feast of the most spectacular kills ever filmed.

Plot Summary
The 2011 scary motion picture "ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2" directed by Robert Green Hall is a follow up to the 2009 movie "Laid to Rest". The film begins in the after-effects of the first film, with Chromeskull, a demented serial killer marked by his signature chrome skull mask and video camera, barely making it through after his last attack. He is saved by his fans, a group referred to as The Organization, led by Preston, who wishes to take over Chromeskull's mantle.

The Organization and Chromeskull
The movie then delves into the operations of The Organization, which, remarkably, is crafted as a well-structured, corporate-style distribute. Preston is revealed controling Chromeskull's operations and healing process, while showing his own brutal approaches of killing. The more intricate structure of The Organization and its internal politics adds an unique depth to the narrative.

Survivors and New Victims
Meanwhile, Chromeskull's previous victim, the last lady from the very first film, makes it through and is put under the care of regional law enforcement, represented mainly by King, a straight-shooting law enforcement officer. King's ward, Jess, becomes one of Chromeskull's new targets. The other main character is Tommy, a teen with a specific interest in the mystical killings.

Chromeskull Returns
Primarily, the audiences get to witness Chromeskull's resurrection and witness his renewal under Preston's guidance, building up tension and fear prior to his awakening. However, when Chromeskull makes his reentry, the violence is escalated as the body count of his victims begins to surge again.

The Man Behind The Mask
In contrast to the first movie, we are given a much deeper check out the male behind the chrome mask. As Preston tries to mold the returned killer into his image, the movie reveals interesting elements of the Chromeskull character, including his motivations and techniques.

Climax and End
The climax is a mix of slasher horror action and internal conflict within the company. Jess and Tommy get captured up in the killer's course, resulting in a series of fatal encounters. Preston's efforts to control Chromeskull ultimately backfire as the hunter reclaims his crown. The movie concludes ambiguously, leaving open the possibility of further follows up.

General Response
"ChromeSkull Laid to Rest 2" provides an intriguing divergence from the standard slasher horror category by incorporating components of business structure and politics into the narrative. While the film is not without its reasonable share of graphic violence and gore, this style makes the plot more layered and complex. The film likewise handles to delve into the mind of its quiet protagonist, adding more depth to his brutally violent character. Nevertheless, the film doesn't stray too far from its core, delivering plenty of thriller and terror for fans of the category.
