Cinderelmo (he's a boy, if you didn't know) dreams of playing in a castle and meeting the princess (Keri Russell). Unfortunately his mean--but not that mean--stepmother (Kathy Najimy) wants her two other sons to go to the ball at which the princess must declare whom she wishes to marry.

Overview
"CinderElmo" is a charming and heartfelt 65 minutes G-rated film launched in 1999. Created by Jim Henson Home Entertainment, this live-action/ muppet movie combines components from the classic fairy tale "Cinderella" and the loveable characters from the popular kids's program, Sesame Street. Directed and produced by Bruce Leddy, the motion picture provides a charming twist on the traditional Cinderella story, changing the downtrodden girl with Elmo, the lovable red monster from Sesame Street.

Main Plot
"CinderElmo", set in the medieval storybook land, sees Elmo, a passionate young monster working for his wicked stepmother and bossy stepsiblings in order to make food and shelter. Though CinderElmo is not treated kindly, his sweet-natured character never falters. The story takes an interesting turn when the King reveals a grand celebration welcoming each and every single girl in the kingdom so that Prince (played by Oliver Platt) can discover his bride.

Elmo wants to attend the celebration, but he doesn't have ideal clothing for such a grand event. Enter his Fairy Godperson (played by Keri Russell), who utilizes her wonderful powers to dress CinderElmo up and amazingly offers a coach to transfer him to the castle.

Key Characters
Elmo plays the lead role as "CinderElmo", showcasing his iconic kind-hearted and resilient character. The wicked stepmother is impersonated by Kathy Najimy - a ruthless lady engaging CinderElmo tirelessly to do all home tasks. She has 2 obnoxiously spoiled kids played by French Stewart and Camryn Manheim.

Perhaps the most wholehearted character in the movie is the Fairy Godperson played by Keri Russel. As CinderElmo's guardian angel, she provides CinderElmo with comfort and guidance throughout his journey. Oliver Platt is the adorable but eccentric prince, who learns the worth of inner appeal.

Concluding Act
The grand celebration is the climax where CinderElmo gets a chance to dance with the Prince, however he needs to leave before midnight when his elegant outfit reverses into routine clothing. In his rush, he drops one of his soccer ball tennis shoes, which the Prince uses to discover him the next day.

Much like in the traditional Cinderella story, the Prince sees each house in the kingdom, wanting to provide each lady a chance to try out the missing out on sneaker. Failing to find the match, he finally reaches CinderElmo's house. Ignoring his wicked stepmother and stepsiblings, Prince discovers that the tennis shoe perfectly fits Elmo, causing the ideal happy ending, underlining the theme that goodness and compassion constantly win.

In a Nutshell
"CinderElmo" is a wonderful, engaging story that keeps the central message of the initial Cinderella tale while skillfully adapting it to the Sesame Street universe. The movie integrates appeal, humor, and charming characters with valuable lessons about compassion, bravery, inner appeal, and the power of never ever quiting on one's dreams. It's an amusing watch, not just for children, but likewise for adults who have enjoyed Elmo and the gang from Sesame Street.
