Some students taking driver's ed during the summer. Among the students is Riko, a cocky guy; Chad, a guy from a privileged background, who's terrified to get behind the wheel; Vanessa, who's over protective mom who wouldn't allow her to take the course, who went behind her back; and Maria, a spoiled foreign student. Now the principal wants the students to pass so he tells the instructor, who's still not over his wife leaving and is not exactly up to the task, that it's important for the students to pass so he brought in a special instructor, who's very tough. And the principal also tells one of his teachers to let, one of the students Maslanski who's the school football star, pass the test he failed so that he can concentrate on driver's ed. But the teacher, seeing this as an opportunity to expose the principal as not doing his job and thus paving the way for him to be the new principal, makes Maslanski take a make up test

Introduction
"Crash Course" also referred to as "Driving Academy" is a comical television movie directed by Oz Scott which premiered in 1988. The film boasts a star-studded cast including several upcoming stars of the time, such as Jackée Harry, Alyssa Milano and Rob Stone. The movie revolves around the theme of a driving school, showcasing a funny mix of kids, moms and dads, and a driving instructor with really unconventional mentor methods.

Plot Summary
The film opens at L.A. Hourglass Traffic School, where 8 stereotypical high school trainees are led by a disillusioned trainer, Edna Savage, who is played by the indomitable Jackée Harry. Under Savage's non-traditional tutelage, these high-schoolers intend to pass the driving test that they have stopped working in the past.

The students include the popular abundant girl, Vanessa Crawford (Tina Yothers), her clumsy football jock partner, 'Mongo' (Brian Robbins), and the bad kid, Leif Boppers (Rob Stone). Also, in the class is Maria (Olivia d'Abo), a forex student struggling to comprehend American traffic signs, and a goody-two-shoes named Alice Santucci (Alyssa Milano), who sees driving as a major duty.

Story Development
Throughout the course, their driving abilities are put to the test through numerous scenarios that hilariously deteriorate into chaos. Each character faces their specific adaptation challenges, showcasing wholehearted and amusing attempts to conquer the open roadway. Vanessa battles with her high-pressure mom, Maria causes trouble with her actual analyses, and Alice needs to push past her 'by the rules' personality that obstructs her from being an natural motorist.

All at once, the driving instructor fights the uniformity of her job and attempts to keep these differently gifted kids in line. Edna takes this ragtag group of teens through unexpected trials and tests to extract their innate driving skills, including police car goes after and even a mock drunk-driving situation.

Ending
The climax includes an exhilarating bus chase when the unaware group hijacks their school bus to locate a thief who has actually taken a school mascot.
