"Death Wish", directed by Eli Roth and starring Bruce Willis, is a 2018 action-thriller film. It is a remake of the 1974 movie of the exact same name which itself was based upon the 1972 book by Brian Garfield. The movie is set in Chicago and centers around the life of the primary character, Dr. Paul Kersey (played by Willis), who turns from an obedient person into a vigilante after his better half and daughter are completely assaulted throughout a home intrusion.

The Storyline
Paul Kersey, an effective surgeon, lives a happy and serene life with his better half Lucy and daughter Jordan till their lives are shattered after a burglary at their house. The burglary goes badly incorrect, resulting in the murder of Lucy and sending Jordan into a coma. The police, despite their efforts, are unable to bring the lawbreakers to justice due to the absence of evidence and resources.

The Transformation
Devastated and annoyed by the absence of development in his family's case, Kersey takes matters into his own hands to bring justice to his liked ones. He becomes a vigilante, understood to the general public as "The Grim Reaper". Kersey's improvement from a mild-mannered physician to a gun-slinging vigilante forms the crux of the story.
