Introduction
"Default" is a 2014 American thriller movie directed by Simon Brand and composed by Jim Wolfe Jr., based upon a story by Jimenez Wolfe and Dan Bence. The plot revolves around a news team and passengers hijacked by Somali pirates aboard a business plane. Plot Synopsis

As they prepare to fly back to the United States, their airplane is hijacked mid-flight by Somali pirates. The pirates are led by Mohamed Salah, a former Somali warlord who is now hellbent on vengeance versus the American military for the killing of his household during a drone strike. Salah and his pirates require five million dollars ransom for the release of the travelers and team. However, the US federal government is unwilling to pay, triggering Salah to begin a countdown prior to the guests are eliminated one by one.

The news team, sensing the precarious situation, begin discreetly sending the captive ordeal back to their news station. The video footage quickly gathers worldwide attention, with millions following the tense standoff on live television. The circumstance escalates as the United States government attempts a number of rescue operations that eventually stop working. Meanwhile, Salah remains steadfast in his needs, refusing to flex to the escalating pressure from the global neighborhood.

Within the plane, the captives undergo various kinds of torture administered by the pirates. Some kind alliances in an effort to increase their chances of survival, while individual conflicts occur amongst the passengers, crew members, and pirates. The film delves into the complexities of humanity when challenged with extreme stress, highlighting both the strength and weakness of the human spirit.

As tensions rise, the individual lives of the hostages are also explored. In particular, Allison grapples with her desire to return house to her family, while at the same time handling the possibility of her own death. On the other hand, Benji starts to struggle with trauma originating from his previous experiences as a war reporter.

In the climax of the film, with the countdown clock nearing absolutely no and no progress in settlements, Saltzman takes a bold method to win the trust of Salah. He utilizes his journalistic experience to manipulate the media protection, framing the story in a way that gathers sympathy for Salah's plight.
