Film Overview
"Doogal" is a 2006 animated kids's film directed by Dave Borthwick, Jean Duval and Frank Passingham. It is based upon "The Magic Roundabout", a British television series and reimagined by American studios for a more comprehensive worldwide audience. The voice cast functions popular actors and actresses including Daniel Tay, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, William H. Macy, Jon Stewart, and Judi Dench.

Plot
The motion picture centers around Doogal, a capitivating but somewhat worn-out looking pet dog, and his group of quirky friends as they embark on a bold mission to save their town. Their tranquil life is interrupted when the evil sorcerer Zeebad (voiced by Jon Stewart) escapes from jail, intending to freeze the world utilizing three magic diamonds.

The very first diamond is already in his belongings, kept in the carousel in the town square which he had utilized as his prison. After a quick encounter, the evil sorcerer manages to freeze the roundabout in addition to Doogal's beloved owner, Florence (voiced by Kylie Minogue, represented visually by a character named Florence).

To prevent Zeebad from obtaining the other two diamonds and saving Florence, Doogal, his snail good friend Brian (voiced by William H. In the climactic fight, Zebedee and Zeebad battle, with Zebedee eventually sacrificing his life to gather enough magic from the diamonds to beat Zeebad. This act thaws the carousel and the town, bring back peace and harmony. The movie wraps up with the warm reunion of Doogal with Florence.

Critical Reception
"Doogal" was largely criticized for its Americanization and for wandering off from the initial British TV series' appeal and humor. It was likewise panned for its disjointed storyline and below average animation.
