"Drag Me to Hell" is a 2009 American supernatural horror film directed by Sam Raimi. The film stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long as the leads. This ruthless horror show of a motion picture presents us to Christine Brown (Alison Lohman), a young and enthusiastic loan officer who is living a satisfying life with her partner Clay Dalton (Justin Long).

The story focuses on the life of Christine, who comes across an old lady, Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) asking for an extension on her home loan. Putting her career aspirations ahead of the old woman's needs, Christine denies the extension, leaving Mrs. Ganush to face expulsion. Feeling humiliated and desperate, Mrs. Ganush positions a curse on Christine, declaring that she will be tortured by an effective demon for three days before being pulled into the intense pits of hell.

Christine's life soon spirals into a supernatural nightmare. She is haunted by disturbing visions and experiences terrifying situations. Attempting desperately to save herself, she looks for assistance from a psychic, Rham Jas (Dileep Rao). He recommends a seance to calm the spirit torturing her.

Obscene Ritual and a Spirit Named Lamia
Throughout the seance, it is revealed that the spirit is Lamia, understood for its cruelty. But the seance does not go as planned, resulting in the spirit's escape. Christine then finds through Rham Jas that her only possibility of survival is to utilize a button from her coat-- the object Mrs. Ganush originally utilized to curse her-- and pass the curse onto somebody else.

Tense Finale
Panic-stricken but figured out to live, Christine chooses to give the cursed button to the corpse of Mrs. Ganush. Although an apparently ruthless choice, she is driven by the urgency of her approaching doom. The serious go to takes place throughout a torrential rainstorm, contributing to the film's thriller and amplified horror.

Unanticipated Twist and Conclusion
In a last effort to atone for her misbehaviours and eliminate the curse, Christine makes a horrifying discovery. In her rush to rid herself of the curse, she had actually wrongly given her partner, Clay, an envelope consisting of the cursed button instead of the envelope consisting of a coin. The film concludes with a chilling scene where the fiery ground cracks open in the middle of a train station, and Christine is dragged into the depths of hell, leaving Clay in shock and horror as his sweetheart descends into the inferno.

"Drag Me to Hell" concludes with a shocking finale, noted for its unexpected twist and the unforgettable imagery of Christine's grim fate. The movie is a scary work of art mixing a supernatural scary plot with remarkable character minutes in a simple, yet effective story that kept both the critics and audiences on the edge of their seats.
