Little Red Riding Hood: A classic story, but there's more to every tale than meets the eye. Before you judge a book by its cover, you've got to flip through the pages. In the re-telling of this classic fable, the story begins at the end of the tale and winds its way back. Chief Grizzly and Detective Bill Stork investigate a domestic disturbance at Granny's cottage, involving a karate-kicking Red Riding Hood, a sarcastic wolf and an oafish Woodsman.

Introduction
"Hoodwinked!" is an animated funny and secret movie that was released in 2005 by The Weinstein Company. The film was directed by Cory Edwards and co-directed by Todd Edwards and Tony Leech, who together likewise composed the movie script. The story put an innovative twist on the traditional fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

Plot
"Hoodwinked!" starts at the normal end point of Little Red Riding Hood; Red, the Big Bad Wolf, Granny, and the Woodsman are found in Granny's home by the police. Nevertheless, instead of a simple retelling of the initial story, the film takes an uncommon investigative technique in which each character shares their version of the events leading up to this point.

The Narratives
The film circles through the narratives of "Red" played by Anne Hathaway, "Wolf" voiced by Patrick Warburton, "Granny" played by Glenn Close and "The Woodsman" portrayed by James Belushi. Red, a shipment woman for her Granny's Goodies company shares her experience where she thinks the Wolf of attempting to take her grandma's secret dishes. The Wolf's story paints him differently; he's a journalist examining a secret thief who's been stealing all the gift recipes. Granny's version exposes that she is a secret extreme sports lover and puzzles the Wolf for the challenger in a ski race she was taking part in. Lastly, the Woodsman's version provides that he's an unaware star who inadvertently stumbled on the scene, triggering the turmoil.

The Twist
The plot thickens when the supposed villain, the Wolf, shows to be innocent and handles the role of a detective. As the movie progresses, it is revealed that a rabbit, Boingo, who appeared innocent and friendly in all four stories, was the actual mastermind behind the thefts. Voiced by Andy Dick, Boingo had created a fancy strategy to take all the recipes in the forest to make his own Goodie Empire.

Ending
Towards completion of the movie, it's a combined effort where Red, Wolf, Granny and the Woodsman interact to expose Boingo and bring him to justice. Together with numerous unwitting individuals from the forest's animal population, the group manages to expose the evil bunny's grand plan and conserve the forest from his Goodie Empire.

Conclusion
"Hoodwinked!" gotten mixed evaluations upon release, earning praise for its special narrative structure and funny bone but criticism for its animation quality. Nevertheless, the movie was a business success and caused a sequel, "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil". The movie's innovative take on a traditional story, integrated with its selection of whimsical characters and comedic minutes, made it an entertaining look for audiences of all ages. Particularly, it's non-linear storytelling and satirical take on a classic tale really set it apart. Overall, "Hoodwinked!" provided a charming and humorous twist on the Little Red Riding Hood story we have all familiarized.
