Film Overview
Launched in 2008, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is the fourth installment in the popular Indiana Jones movie series by Steven Spielberg. Set in 1957, nineteen years after the previous movie, this movie brings back Harrison Ford as archaeologist Indiana Jones. Shia LaBeouf plays a brand-new character, Mutt Williams.

Plot Summary
The story starts with a senior Indiana Jones abducted by Soviet agents and required to a warehouse in Nevada filled with artifacts from the Roswell UFO event. There, Soviet agent Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett) forces him to locate a mummified remains bearing a crystal skull. After getting away, Jones fulfills a young greaser named Mutt Williams who notifies him that Harold Oxley (John Hurt), a former coworker, discovered a crystal skull in Peru and has since freaked.

The adventure sees Jones and Williams journey to Peru, where they discover a huge, pre-Columbian cemetery. Here, they recover the crystal skull, rumored to have mind-controlling powers. They soon experience Spalko and her guys, who take the skull and capture Jones, Williams, Oxley, and Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), revealed to be Williams' mother and Jones's former love interest. They are taken to the concealed temple in the Amazon rainforest.

Final Confrontation and Conclusion
In the Amazonian temple, the team discovers that the crystal skulls come from inter-dimensional beings with remarkable understanding who had actually helped ancient civilizations. Spalko thinks that if she returned the skull to its rightful location, she would be approved ultimate understanding and power. Regardless of cautions from Jones, she takes the skull to the primary temple chamber, prompting the alien to awaken and break down Spalko, whilst Jones and the celebration escape just in time.

In the end, back in the USA, Jones is reinstated at Marshall College, and weds Marion, while Williams, revealed as Jones's kid, Henry Jones III, almost dons his father's iconic hat, symbolizing a possible death of the baton.
