Dispute and Strife
Jeremiah's dire cautions are dismissed by the King of Judah, Jehoiakim, and his officials, depicting their intransigence and arrogance towards God's message. Jeremiah's prophecies become a source of consternation amongst individuals and the King, causing his repetitive imprisonments. In the middle of predictions and prison, Jeremiah falls for a female named Judith, but their romance is temporary. The approaching destruction of Jerusalem intercepts their love story, including another layer to his individual sacrifice in God's purpose.

The Prophecy Fulfilled
Jeremiah's prophecies are realized when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon gets into Jerusalem, raids the city, and takes much of its residents, consisting of the king, into Babylonian captivity. Jeremiah is launched from jail by Babylonian soldiers and offered the job of looking after those left behind in the messed up city. Despite the challenge and distress, Jeremiah stays steadfast and continues to serve God with unyielding faith.
