"Kong: Skull Island" is a 2017 action-adventure monster film directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Plot Summary
In 1973, government agent Randa (John Goodman) hires previous British SAS Captain, James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston) as the group's tracker and persuades an anti-war photographer, Mason Weaver (Brie Larson) to join their expedition on an undiscovered island. Randa likewise recruits Lieutenant Colonel Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) and his squadron to accompany them. Upon reaching the Skull Island, they begin dropping seismic bombs to map the surface, unaware that they are disrupting the habitat of the monstrous Kong, who retaliates and brings down their helicopters.

Struggle for Survival
After the preliminary attack, the group gets split into two separate groups. Packard swears to kill Kong as vengeance for his males's death, while Conrad, Weaver, and a couple of others meet regional Iwi locals and Hank Marlow (John C. Reilly), a WWII pilot stranded on the island because 1944. Marlow explains that Kong protects the island and its occupants from the Skull Crawlers, deadly underground animals.

Climax and Ending
Packard's group captures and plans to kill Kong utilizing seismic explosives but is come by Conrad and his team. They argue that Kong is the island's guardian and keeps the more unsafe animals at bay. On the other hand, a huge Skull Crawler assaults the group, causing Kong and the Skull Crawler's legendary face-off. The battle concludes with Kong killing the Skull Crawler.

"Kong: Skull Island" concludes with most of the group leaving the Island. They are uninformed that the organization Monarch is clandestinely keeping track of Godzilla and other beasts. The film ends by linking this story to future films in the MonsterVerse.
