A once-idealistic writer inadvertently ignites a feeding frenzy in Hollywood with the mention of a mysterious new screenplay and its illusive author.

Film Overview
"New Suit" is a 2002 American funny motion picture directed by François Velle and written by Craig Sherman. The film includes Jordan Bridges, Marisa Coughlan, Heather Donahue, and Dan Hedaya, to name a few. The plot centers around a young Hollywood scriptreader Kevin Taylor, who creates a phony movie script to end the incessant needs from his managers about the next success.

Movie Setting
The story of "New Suit" happens in Hollywood, the heartland of the entertainment industry. Kevin Taylor is a young screenwriter who lands a task as a professional scriptreader. He has a hard time to make his stand in this highly competitive world, where desperation to discover the next successful hit idea dominates.

Plot Development
After growing annoyed with his task, Kevin begins to make up a story on the area throughout a conference about a script entitled "New Suit" composed by the fictional Jordan Strawberry. Marianne Roxbury, a coworker, overhears Kevin's made-up story and begins applauding it to their employers without reading it. As a result, the phantom script quickly gains appeal among the movie community as the best script they've stumbled upon without even reading it.

Main Conflict
Kevin's tale inadvertently passes through the Hollywood grapevine leading to different representatives and manufacturers hustling to work on it. This causes competition for whom the fictional "Jordan Strawberry" will choose to produce his script, making Kevin unable to admit his lie. Meanwhile, he forms a romantic relationship with Marianne, resulting in the film's main dispute: Kevin's struggle between stopping the growing madness and securing his relationship with Marianne.

Resolution
Kevin and his friends decide to hold a fake auction for the script. The auction takes an unexpected twist when Muster Hansau, a well-known manufacturer, provides $1 million for the nonexistent script, and even agrees to permit the imaginary writer to direct the movie. This disorderly situation ends when Muster arrives at Kevin's house seeking the script, causing him to admit his lie mistakenly.

Last Outcome
After the discovery, Kevin's profession appears to be in shambles. However, thanks to the industry's absent-minded nature, he gets another chance. Marianne, too, forgives him for his lies. Kevin then writes a real screenplay based on his experiences, titled "The Straw Man", which eventually gets produced, signifying success he looked for the whole time. Therefore, "New Suit" ends on a cheery note with Kevin being successful in Hollywood, not through shortcuts however through determination and skill.

Commentary
"New Suit" offers a satirical depiction of Hollywood's movie market. It presents a humorous critique on the screenplay organization's fierce nature and the desperation to discover a hit script, sometimes leading to inflated reports and frauds. The movie is not simply a comedic narrative, but a clever and discerning commentary on Hollywood's superficiality, highlighting the market's capability to be captivated by hype and rush judgment.
