Bill Marks is a burned-out veteran of the Air Marshals service. He views the assignment not as a life-saving duty, but as a desk job in the sky. However, today's flight will be no routine trip. Shortly into the transatlantic journey from New York to London, he receives a series of mysterious text messages ordering him to have the government transfer $150 million into a secret account, or a passenger will die every 20 minutes.

Intro

Plot Overview
Liam Neeson, playing Bill Marks, is a distressed Air Marshal who is dealing with personal concerns, including grief over his departed daughter and a struggle with alcohol addiction. He boards a non-stop flight from New York to London, planning to secure the lives aboard the airplane.

Early into the flight, Marks begins getting mysterious text on his safe network. The sender, an unidentified passenger, threatens to eliminate one guest every 20 minutes unless $150 million is moved to a defined bank account. Bill signals the crew, and tries to find the unknown passenger, rapidly understanding the enormity of his task.

Series of Twists
Marks stops working to stop the very first death, leading to increasing stress on board. He tries persuading a flight attendant and likewise a guest called Jen Summers (Julianne Moore) about the seriousness of the crisis. Nevertheless, the scenario escalates when it reveals the bank account is under his name, turning the passengers and crew versus him.

The media depicts Marks as a hijacker, plunging him into an even deeper crisis. Despite the mounting suspicion, Marks continues his overwhelming search in the confined area of the airborne plane while trying to clear his name.

Climax
During the frantic investigation, two more travelers are eliminated, followed by a stunning revelation-- the bomber is indeed on that flight. The threat is revealed to be a former military guest, who was annoyed over security policies, intending to produce Bill as the patsy.

Eventually, another guest called Zack White, assisting the bomber, attempts to kill Marks but eventually fails when Marks handles to shoot him down.

Conclusion
In the end, Marks safely crash-lands the airplane on water, saving the remainder of the guests. He is stated a hero for his efforts to fix the fatal crisis. The thriller reaches a cool conclusion with Marks alighting from the crashed aircraft, holding Jen's hand, with rescue helicopters hovering overhead.

"Non-Stop" is a slick and suspenseful thriller that skillfully uses the compact boundaries of an airplane to increase tension and stakes.
