Overview
"Oh, God! You Devil" is a 1984 American funny film. Directed by Paul Bogart and written by Andrew Bergman, it is the 3rd and last film in the "Oh, God!" series. The motion picture again features George Burns in his 2 synchronised functions, one as God and the other as the Devil.

Plot Summary
The story focuses on Bobby Shelton (played by Ted Wass), a hopeful musician struggling to make it big in the music industry. He is a good individual with huge dreams, often plays small gigs at wedding events, and is married to Wendy (played by Roxanne Hart), a supportive and caring woman who thinks in his talent. The couple goes through tough times due to their financial instability arising from Bobby's failing profession.

One night, after carrying out at a not successful gig, Bobby jokingly states that he 'd sell his soul to the devil to succeed. This was overheard by Harry O. Tophet (George Burns), who is in fact the Devil in disguise. He provides Bobby a deal-- seven years of fame and wealth in exchange for his soul.

Deal with the Devil
Looking at his struggling life, Bobby is enticed by this offer and consents to the pact, regardless of the morally ambiguous conditions. Bobby's life shifts quickly; he transforms into Billy Wayne, a mega music star with all the popularity and cash he could dream of. His brand-new life is everything he desired, however it comes at the cost of losing his partner Wendy, as his new personality Billy can not interact with her.

Divine Intervention
Exceptionally missing his old life and especially Wendy, Bobby realizes he's been hoodwinked and he wants out of his agreement. It's here that God (also played by George Burns) gets in, camouflaged as Al Zimmer, a janitor. Bobby confides to him about the deal he made with the devil, to which God exposes His true identity and consents to help him.

Clash of the Celestial and Infernal
In a high-stakes poker game arranged by God, Bobby's fate is on the table. Both God and the Devil take part in the video game, and if God wins, Bobby regains his soul. However, if The Devil wins, Bobby stays in his existing state, bound by his contract permanently. God is victorious, and Bobby is launched from his agreement, with his life back to normal.

Resolution
Bobby is joyfully reunited with Wendy, and he discovers a renewed sense of purpose. He continues his music profession, not with the aim of being excessively rich, however satisfying his love for music. The film concludes on the ethical that happiness and success should not be related with popularity and fortune, but with love and self-fulfillment.

"Oh, God! You Devil" is a smart comedic approach on the everlasting fight between great and wicked, highlighting George Burns' extraordinary adaptability of representing two polar opposite characters at the same time.
