Film Overview

Plot Summary

Here, he unintentionally triggers a commotion by asking for more gruel, getting sold off to a funeral undertaker, Mr. Sowerberry as a repercussion.

Unable to stand the severe treatment at the Sowerberry's, Oliver runs away to London, where he fulfills a mischievous but charismatic pocket picker, the Artful Dodger, who presents him to the decrepit Fagin and his gang of young burglars.

Main Characters and Development
In spite of Fagin's gang's criminal activities, Oliver is treated with more kindness and affection than he has ever experienced. Nevertheless, his innocence leads him to problem when he is wrongfully implicated of a theft committed by the Dodger. He is saved from prosecution by a benevolent gentleman, Mr. Brownlow, who takes him in.

Unbeknownst to Oliver, he has a family heritage that Mr. Brownlow, due to coincidence, has the ability to trace. Nevertheless, Oliver is forcibly regained by Fagin's gang led by violent career criminal Bill Sikes, intent on guaranteeing Oliver won't lead the cops to their gang.

Climax and Resolution
Ultimately, Sikes and his girlfriend Nancy, who has grown to take care of Oliver, plot to rob Mr. Brownlow's house with Oliver's reluctant assistance. However, Nancy, out of affection for Oliver, spills the plot to Mr. Brownlow. In a twist of occasions, Sikes kills Nancy for her viewed betrayal and utilizes the resulting mayhem to make an escape, satisfying his end when he unintentionally hangs himself.

Eventually, Fagin is apprehended, and Oliver's stylish household heritage is found. The movie ends on a pleased note, with Oliver embraced by Mr. Brownlow and living an abundant life of love and heat that he is worthy of.
