One Night with the King Poster

This amazing biblical drama chronicles the brave and historic legend of Hadassah, a Jewish orphan with exceptional beauty who rises to become Queen Esther of Persia and saves Persian Jews from genocide. By revealing her heritage to the king, Esther thwarts the evil prime minister's plan to annihilate all Jews in the Persian Empire. The annual festival of Purim is inspired by her heroism.

Intro
"One Night with the King" is a 2006 historical drama movie directed by Michael O. Sajbel that paints a cinematic rendition of the Scriptural story of Esther, a common Jewish lady who ends up being the queen of Persia and conserves her people from annihilation. The film stars Tiffany Dupont as Queen Esther, Peter O'Toole, Luke Goss, John Rhys-Davies, Tommy 'Tiny' Lister, and James Callis.

Plot
The film discreetly starts with the backstory of a Jewish lady named Hadassah, who is also referred to as Esther. She was adopted by her cousin Mordecai when her moms and dads were eliminated. One day, Persia's King Xerxes orders all lovely virgin women to be given the palace after he banishes his spouse, Queen Vashti, for defying him in front of his guests. Esther unwillingly obeys this call due to Mordecai's suggestions, concealing her Jewish identity as Mordecai fears prospective harm.

Esther's Rise to Power
Esther is taken to the palace, where she endears herself to Hegai, the eunuch in charge of the hareem, with her inner beauty, appeal, intelligence and humility. King Xerxes satisfies Esther during a feast and is instantly smitten by her. Eventually, she is picked as Queen over other ladies by Xerxes, who is unaware of her Jewish background.

Political Intrigue
Amidst courtly intrigue, Haman, the king's wicked minister, devises a plan to exterminate all Jews in Persia out of revenge against Mordecai, who declines to acquiesce him. Unidentified to the King, Haman casts lots (called Purim) to decide the date of the massacre.

Esther's Courage
When Esther finds out of Haman's wicked plot, she risks her life by going unwelcome to the king to plead for her individuals's survival, as approaching him without invitation is punishable by death. Esther pushes herself and exposes her Jewish identity to the king, incriminating Haman at the same time.

Conclusion
Upon learning of Haman's plot and his adjustment, Xerxes is furious and he orders Haman's execution. He also offers Mordecai Haman's position as the brand-new prime minister and allows the Jews to defend themselves against their enemies. Through Esther's courage and faith, her people are saved from annihilation.

Themes
The salient styles in "One Night with the King" consist of faith, nerve, fate, and the accomplishment of excellent over evil. Strikingly, Esther's story shows an effective example of a female's courage and depth of character, as she fearlessly puts her life on the line to conserve her individuals. As a film, it checks out political intrigue, love, courage and faith, with the historical and biblical context offering a distinctively grand backdrop.
