Discovering New Love
On her check out house, Savannah runs into an old friend, Jake Gilbert (John Clayton), a carnival employee who is her polar reverse. He has a free-spirited attitude towards life, contrary to Savannah's extremely structured and posh way of life. Their differences, rather than causing conflicts, triggers a romantic fire between them. They start an intense love affair, which only complicates Savannah's currently intricate life further.

Savannah's Dilemma
Now, Savannah discovers herself drawn in between her 2 worlds. On one hand, she has her glamour-filled life and fiance in New York and on the other, she has her roots, her household, and her newfound love in Two Moon Junction. This dilemma puts Savannah under huge pressure as she must decide what she genuinely desires-- is it enjoyment and upper class life like before or the simplicity and credibility of her newfound love.

She starts reassessing her career, way of life, and upcoming marriage in New York, which has actually left her feeling unfulfilled and unhappy. Moreover, she seems more likely to stay in Two Moon Junction since of the intense love affair with Jake, which fills her with joy.

Conclusion of the Story

The movie concludes without providing us a sure response, leaving the resolution open-ended. By leaving behind her high-society, busy life, Savannah accepts an easier, more fulfilling method of living that is deeply tied to her roots.
