Revenge! (1971)

Introduction
"Revenge!" is a 1971 made-for-television mental thriller directed by Jud Taylor and starring Shelley Winters, Stuart Whitman and Bradford Dillman. The movie has to do with a female who looks for vengeance on a former enthusiast who left her and her daughter broke.

Plot
The film begins with Amanda Hilton (Shelley Winters) finding that her husband has actually been carrying out secret affairs and has left her with no cash or resources. With her adolescent child, she is forced to look for refuge with her Aunt, who disinherits them due to a previous animosity. When her financial status becomes desperate, Amanda chooses to look for Mark Hembric (Stuart Whitman), an old fan from 20 years ago who is now a rich man.

However, Mark does not recognize Amanda and does not remember their past relationship, triggering her to feel humiliated. In spite of this, he uses her a job as a domestic helper in his home, which Amanda accepts as a way to get close to him.

Conflict and Revenge
As she works for Mark, Amanda starts plotting vengeance against him for his lack of knowledge and for discarding their previous affair so delicately. She controls his child, Greg (Bradford Dillman), who falls in love with her. Things take a dark turn when she encourages Greg to eliminate his dad. Nevertheless, the plot backfires and Greg is tragically killed instead.

Resolution
After the death of Greg, Mark is grief-stricken. Amidst the chaos, Amanda confesses her previous relationship to Mark and also confesses to plotting Greg's hate versus his daddy. Filled with remorse and disgust, Mark turns down Amanda completely.

Conclusion
"Revenge!" takes an audience on a journey full of thriller, shock, and excitement. Amanda's character drives the story forward; her adjustment and iron-clad will make her actions unpredictable. Even though Amanda wish for vengeance, the movie ends on a mournful note as it all backfires extremely, leaving her feeling more isolated and regretful. The film exhibits themes of pacing, stress, and a sense of impending doom which are efficiently utilized to highlight Amanda's desperate attempts to get back at a fan who abandoned her.

Regardless of its extreme story, the film imparts an useful lesson on the consequences of vengeance, detailed control, and the risk of untreated, raw feelings.
