PlotThe film begins with Amanda Hilton (Shelley Winters) finding that her husband has actually been carrying out secret affairs and has left her with no cash or resources. With her adolescent child, she is forced to look for refuge with her Aunt, who disinherits them due to a previous animosity. When her financial status becomes desperate, Amanda chooses to look for Mark Hembric (Stuart Whitman), an old fan from 20 years ago who is now a rich man.
However, Mark does not recognize Amanda and does not remember their past relationship, triggering her to feel humiliated. In spite of this, he uses her a job as a domestic helper in his home, which Amanda accepts as a way to get close to him.

She controls his child, Greg (Bradford Dillman), who falls in love with her. Things take a dark turn when she encourages Greg to eliminate his dad.
