"Richie Rich's Christmas Wish" is a 1998 American direct-to-video comedy film directed by John Murlowski, starring David Gallagher as Richie Rich. Produced by Saban Entertainment and Warner Bros, it is the follow up to the 1994 film "Richie Rich". It's an easy going movie that outlines the power of relationship, family, and the true spirit of Christmas.

The movie centers around Richie Rich (David Gallagher), who is a kid millionaire with all the luxury on the planet. He has loving moms and dads and a close-knit group of buddies. Nevertheless, his cousin Reggie Van Dough (Jake Richardson), is jealous of Richie's life and intends to wreak havoc. Throughout an annual Christmas celebration, Reggie spoils the vacation celebrations by dunking the Christmas tree with snow, for which Richie is blamed. Distressed and annoyed by the undeserved blame, Richie wishes that he had never been born.

His wish is approved by a wanting machine developed by Professor Keenbean, and Richie discovers himself in an alternative universe where Reggie supervises. Here, he understands that his friends and family suffer without him. His parents are selling all their possessions to settle Reggie's large debts and Cadbury, the trusted butler and good friends, are residing in hardship. Even his faithful and cherished pet dog, Dollar, doesn't recognize him.

Richie's Fight Back
Richie, horrified by the state of this alternate universe, chooses to reclaim his previous life. He disguises himself to avoid Reggie's security group, teams up with eccentric innovator Professor Keenbean, and tries to reverse the results of the wish maker. Along his journey, he finds out the value of his bequest, appreciates his advantages, and understands the value of his existence in the lives of the people around him.

In the end, after a series of interesting, nail-biting occasions loaded with comedic minutes, Richie succeeds in reversing the wish.
