Immediately after their miscarriage, the US diplomat Robert Thorn adopts the newborn Damien without the knowledge of his wife. Yet what he doesn’t know is that their new son is the son of the devil.

Introduction
"The Omen" is a supernatural horror movie released in 1976, that was directed by Richard Donner and penned by David Seltzer. The film stars Gregory Peck, Lee Remick and David Warner to name a few. The primary story revolves around a young boy named Damien, believed to be the Antichrist predicted in the Christian bible.

Plot Overview
American diplomat Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) is unconcerned that his newborn boy has actually passed away. The medical facility chaplain suggests that Thorn adopt a newborn whose mom passed away in giving birth, making sure Robert's partner, Katherine (Lee Remick) would not need to know the fact. Thorn agrees and the couple raise the kid, Damien (Harvey Spencer Stephens), as their own. Things start to unravel when Damien's baby-sitter mysteriously devotes suicide during his 5th birthday party. A new baby-sitter, Mrs. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw), is worked with, and she comes to have an unfathomable attachment to Damien.

The Strange Unfoldings
Deaths and tragedies occur around Damien, including the strange death of a priest, Father Brennan (Patrick Troughton), who attempts to alert Robert about Damien's true nature. Keith Jennings (David Warner), a photojournalist whose photographs expose premonitions of the deaths, allies with Robert. They gain from Brennan's diary that Damien might be the Antichrist. Katherine gets inexplicably pregnant and is pressed off a veranda by Mrs. Baylock, resulting in her death.

The Unveiling of The Omen
Desperate for responses, Robert and Keith travel to Italy to examine Damien's birth. They discover a cemetery with the tombs of Damien's genuine mother, revealed to be a jackal, and Robert's original child, who was killed at birth. They then go to exorcist Bugenhagen (Leo McKern) in Israel, who informs them that Damien need to be killed on hallowed ground with 7 magical daggers.

Last Act
Upon returning, Robert discovers his house empty with indications of a battle. He finds Mrs. Baylock and sees her with Damien. In an ensuing fight, he eliminates Mrs. Baylock however hesitates to murder Damien. Jennings is decapitated in a freak mishap, and in utter misery, Robert decides to go through with the strategy. He is captured in the act of trying to eliminate Damien inside a church and is shot dead by the authorities. The film ends with Damien, seemingly innocent, reversing and smiling at the cam throughout his moms and dads' funeral service.

Conclusion
"The Omen" explores the battle between great and wicked and the worry of the unknown. With its usage of biblical prophecy, haunting music, and atmospheric scary, the movie interacts a sense of foreboding, providing a chilling representation of the Antichrist's arrival.
