"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" (2005) is a coming-of-age film set around the lives of 4 close-knit high-school friends preparing for their very first summer season apart from one another. It is based upon the very first book in the series of the same name by Ann Brashares.

The Story
One day, the good friends discover a set of old jeans pants at a pre-owned store. They understand that, in spite of their differing body shapes, the pants fit each of them perfectly. This not likely event leads them to believe that the pants are magical. With it being the very first time they will spend the summer season holidays apart, they decide to share the trousers as a method to remain linked, creating a set of guidelines for their blood circulation.

Specific Summer Experiences
On her getaway, Carmen visits her separated daddy in South Carolina, just to discover that he will remarry, leaving her feeling deserted and deceived. Meanwhile, Lena goes to Greece to visit her grandparents, satisfying a young man called Kostas, with whom she eventually falls in love. Bridget, going to a soccer camp in Mexico, starts a forbidden relationship with a counselor. Tibby, while working at a home items shop, makes an unlikely pal called Bailey, a 12-year-old lady who helps her develop a documentary.

Conclusion
Through their private experiences, each girl learns about love, household, grief, and the value of friendship. Carmen challenges her father about her feeling of desertion; Tibby is devastated by the unexpected death of her young friend Bailey; Lena experiences her first real love and heartbreak; and Bridget deals with the effect of her spontaneous actions.
