Trippin' Poster

Greg is near the end of his senior year in high school, wanting to go to the prom, eyeing Cinny (the school's beauty with brains) from afar, and regularly trippin', daydreaming about being a big success as a poet, a student, a lover. His mom wants him to apply to colleges, but Greg hasn't a clue. One of his teachers, Mr. Shapic, tries to inspire him, too. He finally figures out he can get close to Cinny if he asks her for help with college applications. But friendship isn't enough, he wants romance and a prom date. So, he tells a few lies and, for awhile, it seems to be working. Then, things fall apart and Greg has to figure out how to put the trippin aside and get real.

Film Overview
"Trippin'" is a comedy movie launched in 1999 directed by David Raynr. The 94 minutes long motion picture, written by Gary Hardwick, has to do with a high school student who constantly fantasizes about life beyond school, especially model expectations of success and the material way of life it might bring.

Main Characters and Plot
Gregory Reed (aka G), the movie's lead character played by Deon Richmond, is a high school senior citizen who's understood for his extreme daydreaming. G lives in an imaginative world where he's constantly the hero or the focal point. While his good friends and classmates are focused on their future after graduation, requesting colleges and thinking of their professions, G dreams about popularity, lovely women, and wealth, as success signs. He's routinely having flights of expensive instead of concentrating on sensible post-graduation strategies.

G is excitedly looking forward to the annual senior class journey due to the fact that he knows it's an opportunity to bring his dreams to life. Together with him are his friends, Fish (played by Donald Faison from Clueless) and June Nelson (played by Guy Torry). Ultimately, his crush, Cinny Hawkins (played by Maia Campbell), encourages him about the value of preparing for the future and going to college.

Circulation of Events and Conclusion
In the film, G's dreams play out in various comic scenes, his daydreams taking us to unimaginable circumstances. In spite of these musings, G struggles to measure up to the expectations of reality. Anyway, he chooses to organize the funds needed for the senior-class trip to ensure his fantasies come true. But, his plans go awry and result in humorous and unanticipated scenarios.

Meanwhile, other students, Cinny Hawkins, in specific, request scholarships and prepare for their future earnestly. Cinny, who's attracted to G, persuades him to make earnest plans towards participating in a college rather than simply dreaming about a fantastic life. A vital part of the story focuses on G understanding the significance of preparation instead of daydreaming.

Towards completion of the film, G discovers a lesson about the differences between dream and truth, especially relating to wealth, relationships, and the need for effort and preparation. Understanding the importance of education, he attempts to make an application for a college scholarship, assisted voluntarily by Cinny.
