The movie is directed by Jamal Hill and stars Vivica A. Fox, Andra Fuller, Erica Peeples and Jeremy Meeks. It is a follow up to the 2017 film "True to the Game".

Plot Summary
The film gets a year after the events of the first movie. It follows the life of Gena Rollins, represented by Erica Peeples, a journalist in Philadelphia who was once drawn into the city's harsh underworld through her relationship with a notorious drug dealership called Quadir Richards.

Quadir (Columbus Short) was killed in the previous chapter, and Gena has been attempting to carry on with her life. But her previous continues to haunt her, consisting of unresolved concerns and remaining threats from Quadir's empire. She is pursued by regional gangsters who see her as the secret to Quadir's covert fortune. Concurrently, Gena is trying her best to resist the appeals of a consistent NBA gamer, Saleem Akil, played by Andra Fuller.

Conflict and Resolution
The story deviates for Gena when she finds herself knotted in a love triangle with Saleem and a new mystical guy who enters her life, Jay, played by Jeremy Meeks. Unbeknownst to Gena, Jay is not simply another love interest, but a killer hired by one of Quadir's opponents, intending to get her to expose where Quadir's fortune is concealed. Jay falls in love with Gena, conflicting with his initial murderous intent. In the end, he skips town after he and Gena are assaulted by another hit man, leaving behind a bag full of money for her.

Performance and Reception
The performances in the movie were praised, with Erica Peeples getting recognition for her portrayal of Gena Rollins. However, the movie received mixed reviews, with some critics discovering the plot somewhat predictable and excessively significant. In spite of this, it held its appeal to the fans of the initial book and very first film installment.

Conclusion
"True to the Game 2" is a dramatic and violent depiction of Gena Rollins' battle to leave her past and construct a brand-new life. The film successfully blends elements of love, crime and thriller, albeit under the shadow of foreseeable properties and excessively melodramatic storytelling. Nonetheless, the intense performances, a fast lane, and loyal adaptation of the source material make it an interesting watch. It leaves the audience preparing for the third and last installation in the "True to the Game" series.
