A NASA spacecraft proves Einstein right when, traveling faster than light, it ends up near King Arthur's Camelot. On board are big-hearted Tom Trimble and Hermes, the look-alike robot he built. Tom immediately makes friends with pretty Alisande while becoming enemies with the evil knight Sir Mordred. It seems Mordred has joined up with the Sorcerer Merlin and they are both up to no good. It is now up to Tom to try and use 20th century technology to foil their plans.

Film Overview
"Unidentified Flying Oddball" is a comedy, science fiction film launched in 1979, produced by Walt Disney Productions. The motion picture is also called "The Spaceman and King Arthur" and "A Spaceman in King Arthur's Court". It's based on the novel "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" written by Mark Twain.

Main Plot
The story begins by introducing Tom Trimble, a NASA engineer, and his humanoid assistant, Hermes, who are working on a job with a spacecraft. Due to a system error, Tom is unintentionally launched with his spacecraft and plunged into a time warp. This series takes him to the 6th century, the rule of King Arthur in England. Tom's spacecraft is mistaken for a 'dragon' by the people of Camelot, where he lands.

Entry into Camelot's Society
Transforming from an astronaut into a traveler, Tom has to deal with and understand the components of the Medieval period. With his scientific understanding and advanced innovation, he performs mysterious acts for individuals of the kingdom, which are viewed to be magic, making him a wonder and a risk in their eyes. King Arthur's sorcerer, Merlin, ends up being especially threatened by Tom's 'magic'. Merlin, seeing Tom as a rival, plots to overthrow him.

Deceptiveness and Rescue
Merlin partners with the wicked Sir Mordred and controls Tom into constructing a spacecraft for them to conceive their wicked plans. On the other hand, Tom befriends Alisande, a lady-in-waiting, who learns of Merlin and Sir Mordred's evil plot. Tom, with the help of Alisande and her true love, Sir Gawain, handles to hinder Merlin and Sir Mordred's strategies. After freeing King Arthur from their clutches, Tom leads an inventive, comical fight sequence versus the duo with his modern know-how.

Return and Conclusion
After the fight, Tom develops another maker to move him back to his time. He gets catapulted back into today day just in time to avoid NASA from launching a rescue mission for him, and with Hermes assuming his location for the trip to Mars. Upon going back to the present, Tom finds Alisande in his time, exposing that she had also taken a trip forward in time with him.

"Unidentified Flying Oddball" is a smart blend of comedy with science fiction, integrating themes of time travel and culture clash. The film takes its narrative from Mark Twain's timeless and wraps it in a family-friendly, sci-fi bundle, making it a delightful watch for all ages.
