Socrates is recommending that principles based upon family member emotional values is an impression. He believes that this type of principles is not based upon any sound or true concepts. He thinks that it is a repulsive perception, and that it is not a legitimate means to determine principles. He believes that principles ought to be based upon absolute worths, as opposed to on the emotions of the individual. He believes that morality must be based on global concepts that hold true for all individuals, no matter their specific feelings. He thinks that principles needs to be based on a collection of concepts that correspond and also imperishable. He thinks that morality should be based upon a collection of values that are not subject to the whims of the person.
