"Be as you wish to seem"

This quote by Socrates encourages us to be authentic and true to ourselves. He is recommending that we should strive to be the individual we want to be, rather than pretending to be somebody we are not. He is motivating us to be truthful with ourselves and to live our lives in such a way that reflects our real values and beliefs. He is likewise suggesting that we should be mindful of our actions and how they may be viewed by others. By being true to ourselves, we can produce a positive picture of ourselves and be appreciated by others. Ultimately, Socrates is encouraging us to be the very best variation of ourselves and to live our lives in a way that is real to our worths and beliefs.
