This quote by Benjamin Franklin is a cautioning to those who are too happy with their ownerships. He is suggesting that if somebody is too eager to display their wealth, they may be welcoming individuals to take advantage of them. He is suggesting that if somebody is too open about their wealth, they may be putting themselves in a vulnerable position. By showing their other half and wallet, they are essentially promoting their wealth and welcoming people to take it. Franklin is cautioning that if somebody is too open about their wealth, they might find themselves in a circumstance where both their better half and wallet are obtained.
