Orson Pratt was a popular early leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This quote is from his autobiography and is referring to his ordination as a member of the High Council in Zion. This was a group of twelve guys who was accountable for assisting to govern the Church and provide spiritual guidance. The High Council was presided over by the President of the Church, Joseph Smith. By being ordained to the High Council, Orson Pratt was offered the authority to act in the name of the Church and to help lead the Church in its objective. This was an excellent honor for Orson Pratt and a testament to his loyalty and devotion to the Church. He was a loyal servant of the Lord and a terrific example of how to serve the Church.
