"Only he who believes is obedient and only he who is obedient believes"

In this quote, Dietrich Bonhoeffer is emphasizing the importance of both belief and obedience in one's faith. He recommends that true belief is just shown through obedience, and that obedience is a required part of belief. In other words, one can not declare to really believe in something if they are not going to follow through with actions that line up with that belief. Likewise, one can not genuinely be loyal without a strong belief in what they are being obedient to.
