This quote by Herbert Beerbohm Tree suggests that individuals frequently stop working to acknowledge the true power and authority of God. Rather, they tend to see God as if He were a minor figure of royalty, somebody who is essential however not all-powerful. This is an error, as God is the ultimate authority and power in the universe. He is the one who produced the world and all that is in it, and He is the one who will ultimately judge us. We must not take God gently, but rather acknowledge His power and authority and treat Him with the respect He should have. We should not forget that He is the one who holds our lives in His hands and that He is the one who will eventually decide our fate.
