This quote by legendary golf enthusiast Jack Nicklaus is a suggestion that the essence of any video game is to delight in oneself while playing, regardless of the outcome. It is easy to get so concentrated on winning or achieving a particular outcome that we forget the real purpose of playing a game: to have a good time. When we are having fun, we tend to carry out much better and produce a positive energy that benefits everybody included. A game is not solely about the end outcome; it is about the journey towards that result, the moments of pleasure and laughter that we experience with our fellow players. By accepting this philosophy, we can all have a more pleasurable and satisfying experience when playing a game.
