As a child, he was eager to handle the responsibility of being a going across guard, however was never given the chance. He was seen as also wild and careless, but he understood that he was capable of the job. This quote speaks with the concept of being judged and not provided the opportunity to prove oneself. It is a reminder that we should not be so fast to judge others, and that everybody should be provided the opportunity to prove themselves. It is also a reminder that we need to not be so quick to give up on our desires, and that we should maintain pursuing what we want, even if it looks like the chances are against us.
