Early Life
Scott Weiland was born Scott Richard Kline on October 27, 1967, in San Jose, California, USA. His mother, Sharon Williams, and his dad, Kent Kline, separated when Scott was 2 years old, and he later embraced the surname Weiland from his stepfather, David Weiland. Scott matured in various parts of the United States, including Ohio, California, and Texas, prior to his family finally calmed down in Huntington Beach, California in 1982.

Scott had an interest in music from a young age, especially rock and hard rock, and would often participate in performances with his pals. He was known for his distinct style sense, regularly dying his hair and using non-traditional clothes. After finishing from Edison High School in 1986, Scott attended Orange Coast College with the objective of studying innovative writing.

Development of Stone Temple Pilots
Throughout his time at college, Scott met bassist Robert DeLeo at a punk rock show. The 2 found their mutual passion for music and decided to form a band, which they initially called "Swing". Together with drummer Eric Kretz and guitar player Dean DeLeo, Scott took the role of prima donna and lyricist. The group altered its name multiple times-- from Mighty Joe Young to Stone Temple Pilots-- and started playing gigs around the Los Angeles location.

Business Success
Stone Temple Pilots signed with Atlantic Records in 1992 and released their launching album, "Core", which reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's design featured a mix of grunge, glam rock, and alternative rock. The band continued to launch albums throughout the '90s, including "Purple" (1994) and "Tiny Music ... Reunion with Stone Temple Pilots and Final Years
In 2008, Weiland reunited with Stone Temple Pilots, and they embarked on an effective world trip in 2010. The band consequently released their self-titled album in 2010, which was received positively by fans and critics alike. Despite the reunion, Weiland continued to have problem with addiction, and his behavior resulted in stress within the band.

Weiland was fired from Stone Temple Pilots in 2013. He continued his solo profession, launching an album with his brand-new band, Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts, in 2015. Catastrophe struck when guitarist Jeremy Brown died one day before the album's release.
