Biography
Jerry Bruce Jenkins is an American author of primarily Christian literature. Jenkins is writer at Moody Bible Institute, and has written (and been editor) for Moody Magazine.
His writing began as a sports writer in youth. Later he worked with several sports stars, but also the preacher Billy Graham, in their autobiographies. In the first half of the 1990s he was commissioned to write the novel Handed left (Left Behind), from an idea by Tim LaHaye. The book was published in 1995 and became a huge success and was followed by a dozen sequels. He has also written, among other children's books. He was also an outlet for his interest in sports as the author of series Gil Thorp trip between 1996 and 2004.
He founded the film company Jenkins Entertainment, which produced the film Hometown Legend, which Jenkins then wrote a novel based on the film. His son, Dallas Jenkins is a film producer and director. Jenkins and his wife Dianna live in Colorado and has two sons.
He also owns the Christian Writers Guild, which works to promote Christian literature.
