Biography

Michael Lee Moorer is an American heavyweight boxer. He is one of few who have become world champion at both light heavyweight and heavyweight classes. During his career he had some of the most respected trainers in boxing. Both Emanuel Steward and Teddy Atlas was the coaches, and both have eftertid stated that Moorer was a difficult person to work with. As a practitioner in the light heavyweight cleared his whole division to win by knockout in every fight.

In 1994, Moorer beat Evander Holyfield on points and won the champion belts in the IBF and WBA. Moorer lost the sensational titles of the same year, when he lost to 45-year-old George Foreman as the knocker Moorer in 10.runde. Moorer led the match with maximum margin when he was hit by The Man's right.

Moorer regained IBF title in a split points win over German Axel Shulz in 1996, but lost the following year in the return match against Evander Holyfield where he visited canavasen all 5 times.

Moorer has during his career defeated a number of good boxers. Including Bert Cooper, James Smith, Frans Botha and Levi Billups. In 2002, David Tua extinguished the last light of Moore's career, Moorer was then knocks out in 30 seconds.

After unsuccessful attempts at a comeback, Moorer has worked as a bodyguard for golf ace Tiger Woods.
