Plot
The movie depicts the events that unfold on the massive mining starship called the USG Ishimura after uncovering a strange but effective artifact on a remote world, known as Aegis VII. Alyssa Vincent, the ship's security chief, is the primary lead character of the story. As the artifact known as the 'Red Marker' is employed, the team begins experiencing hallucinations, reproducing fear and worry amongst them.

The Outbreak
Soon, the horrors escalate as the dead crew's bodies begin reanimating to end up being monstrous monsters called 'Necromorphs', that start to decimate the crew. It appears as though the Red Marker has actually released an alien infection on the ship.
