Interview with the Vampire Poster

A vampire relates his epic life story of love, betrayal, loneliness, and dark hunger to an over-curious reporter.

Introduction
"Interview with the Vampire" is a 1994 American gothic scary movie directed by Neil Jordan, adjusted from Anne Rice's 1976 book of the same name. The movie sets a dark and chilling environment, revolving around the confessions of a 200-year-old vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac (played by Brad Pitt), to a modern reporter, Daniel Malloy (Christian Slater).

Plot Summary
The story starts in 1791 when Louis, a Louisiana plantation owner, turns to alcohol and decadence to deal with the misery he feels after his other half and kid's death. However, Louis's life takes a terrible turn when he fulfills a charming vampire, Lestat de Lioncourt (Tom Cruise), who changes him into a vampire. Throughout his newly found life, Louis battles with his humanity and regret over his vampire instincts, especially his requirement to kill for survival.

Louis's moral battles aggravate when Lestat turns a five-year-old girl, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), into a vampire to guarantee Louis would stay with him out of his paternal sensations towards Claudia. However Claudia, maturing psychologically but remaining in a kid's body, ultimately turns against Lestat for cursing her with eternal childhood.

Conflict and Resolution
The plot turns more intense when Claudia tries to assassinate Lestat, leading them to believe he is dead. Relatively released, Claudia and Louis get away to Europe, looking for other vampires. They come across a group of vampire performative artists called the Théâtre des Vampires, led by a vampire named Armand (Antonio Banderas). Nevertheless, their tranquillity is temporary as Lestat returns, seeking revenge.

Armand's coven records Louis and Claudia. As punishment, Claudia and her newly made new, Madeleine, are put in a sun-lit room where they die. Armand releases Louis and in retaliation for Claudia's death, Louis burns down their burrow, eliminating all the vampires within it.

In the following centuries, Louis remains singular, while scoursing over his vampire nature, the lost decades and Claudia's demise, changing his hunting standards to take just the lives of evildoers.

Conclusion
In the present day, after hearing Louis's tale, Daniel is mesmerized by the possibility of immortality, youth, and power, and asks Louis to change him into a vampire. Louis responds strongly, revealing Daniel the anguish, vacuum and solitude that immortality brings, leaving him in shock.

In the last section of the motion picture, Lestat appears and assaults Daniel, mirroring the start of Louis's own story. The film closes as Lestat narrates his enjoyment over the brand-new age they live in and the prospects of easy victim, exposing numerous possibilities.

Commentary
"Interview with the Vampire" checks out the torture and battles of immortality contrasted with human morality and sensations, supplying a deep philosophical commentary on the notions of life, death, and morality. The movie succeeds in creating a hauntingly lovely yet melancholic world of vampires, enhanced by engaging performances, specifically from Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and a young Kirsten Dunst.
