This quote by Voltaire is a cautioning about the power of persuasion. He is stating that if somebody can make you think something that is not real, then they can likewise make you do something that is incorrect. This is because if you think something that is not true, then you are more likely to act on it. For example, if somebody tells you that it is okay to take, then you may be most likely to do it if you believe them. Voltaire is alerting us to be mindful of what our company believe and to believe critically about what we are informed. He is also cautioning us to be knowledgeable about the power of persuasion and to be careful of who we trust.
