This quote by Archibald Alexander is a reminder that we can not use our wicked nature as an excuse for our misdeeds. It is not a legitimate apology to blame our wicked act upon our evil heart, as this is the very factor for our condemnation. We need to take responsibility for our actions and accept the effects of our misbehaviors. We must strive to do better and make amends for our errors. We should likewise keep in mind that we are all capable of making errors and that we ought to not be too tough on ourselves. We must gain from our mistakes and strive to be much better people. We must also bear in mind that we are all efficient in redemption and that we can be forgiven for our sins.
