David Byrne is a Scottish-American musician and multi artist. He is known primarily as the frontman of the band Talking Heads, which was active from 1975 to 1991. He has since then been active as a director, movie producer, actor and record producer.

After his work with Talking Heads, he has released a number of solo and collaborative projects with Annie Erin Clark (better known as St. Vincent) and Brian Eno. Eno and Byrne later released several tracks of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts under a Creative Commons license; so that listeners can even download individual songs free of charge and create their own remix versions.

Byrne has also made musical contributions to films with film directors as Bernardo Bertolucci in The Last Emperor. This movie won an Oscar for best film music. In addition, he directed and acted in the film True Stories, and he has directed several documentaries.

He has been known to utilize modern technology and avant-garde expressions in he’s works. Byrne transformed in 2008 together with his associates an old building in New York City to an instrument. The equipment had previously been used in a similar project in Sweden in 2005, and in later time the London Roundhouse in 2009.

Since 2005, Byrne has also run he’s own online radio station called Radio David Byrne.
